This Privacy Policy explains how MakeMyRewards ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use the MakeMyRewards mobile application and the related services available at makemyrewards.com (together, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account & identity: phone number, name, email (optional), profile photo.
- KYC information: identity documents (Aadhaar, PAN, or equivalent) and bank/UPI details required to process payouts.
- Activity proof: screenshots, photos, or other evidence you submit to claim a reward.
- Communications: messages you send to support and any feedback you submit.
1.2 Information we collect automatically
- Device data: device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone, push token.
- Usage data: features used, offers viewed/completed, referral activity, crash logs.
- Approximate location: derived from IP, used only to localise offers and prevent fraud. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission.
2. How we use information
- To create and operate your account and authenticate you (via OTP).
- To deliver offers, track completions, calculate rewards, and process payouts.
- To verify your identity (KYC) before disbursing payouts, in accordance with applicable law.
- To prevent, detect, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To send transactional notifications (OTP, payout status, account events) and, only with your consent, marketing.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. Legal bases
We process personal data on the following bases: (a) performance of the contract between you and us; (b) compliance with our legal obligations (including financial and KYC regulations); (c) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service; and (d) your consent, where required.
4. How we share information
- Service providers / processors: cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), OTP delivery (MSG91), email delivery (Amazon SES), analytics, and customer support tooling. They are bound by data-protection contracts.
- Payment partners: banks, payment aggregators, and KYC verification providers, strictly as needed to process your payouts.
- Law enforcement & legal: when required by valid legal process or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention
We keep account and KYC information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal, tax, accounting, anti-fraud, and audit obligations (typically up to 8 years for financial records). Activity proofs are retained while needed to validate the related reward and resolve disputes. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 8).
6. Security
We use technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal data: encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for KYC documents and bank details, access controls, audit logs, and limited employee access on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong device PIN and keep your app updated.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
You may, subject to applicable law and verification of your identity:
- access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your account and associated data — see Account Deletion;
- withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.
9. International transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in the AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1) region. Some service providers may process data in other countries; where they do, we rely on contractual safeguards consistent with Indian and applicable foreign data-protection law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email and update the "Last updated" date above.
